hours at the
Colosseum before
we left for the
Pantheon. We

| Day 2 in Rome - The Vatican Museum and St. Peter's were just amazing places. I will save the explanations of the photos until we get home. When we got to the museum about 9:30 a.m. we were discouraged since the line went on for blocks!! However a grouond tour is the only way to go since we were taken in through a special "reservations" entrance and didn't need to wait in the lines!! |

St. Peter's was a truly amazing place. It is the largest cathedral in the world. The inside of
it is almost completely covered in marble. There are several popes that lie in state and
have been mummified. They are placed in glass coffins like the one below so you can
see them.
