Santorini, Greece - Oct 16
After leaving Rhodes we had quite a show from Mother Nature. To
see some pictures of it click here: Mother Nature's show!!
The next morning we arrived in Santorini. This is a beautiful place
and it was warm and very windy when we arrived. The tender
left the ship about 7:30 a.m. and it took about 10 minutes to reach
the port. Our bus picked us up there and drove us up a
switchback road to the top of the caldera. Then we took a 3 hour
bus tour around Santorini with two different stops for shopping.
We lost Judy and Rusty during the last
shopping stop, but we found them at the
bottom of the cable cars enjoying some
good Greek beer.
We took a cable car from the top to sea level to catch the tender back to the ship. The trip only takes two minutes to go the entire 900 feet!

This was one of the few interior tours we
took on Santorini. It's the inside of the
Greek Orthodox cathedral and it's quite
beautiful.
We walked all the way out to an old ruins from the original settlement of Santorini. You can get a pretty spectacular view from this point on the island. Rusty took our picture there.

Kathy's smiling because she just bought a
bunch of stuff in one of the stores!!
Every view from this island is a picture post card.

There was a little rain early in the morning,
but it cleared up fast and the rest of the
day was very pleasant. It actually got quite
hot around noon. I imagine it is very hot
here in the summer.
